Hello, Glamouristas, it’s time for a review! We’ve all heard
of Wet n Wild and at one point or another and probably owned a product or two. I
remember spending an absurd amount of time at the WnW section of Rite Aid as a
little girl, and quite frankly, you can still find me there. Lately, Wet n Wild
has been getting a lot of recognition for their pigmented eye shadows and
opaque lipsticks so I thought, why not do a review on a few of their products? This is great for all wallet sizes and all experience levels. Hope you enjoy,
let’s do this!
I did a swatch of the Wet n Wild Coloricon eye shadow palette
in Comfort Zone and I created an eye
look with the first column of colors which were rose-based in color. I also used the blush in Mellow Wine, bronzer or "highlighter" in Reserve Your Cabana and matte lipstick in Think Pink. I swatched a few more other lipstick colors as well for your viewing pleasure.
Wet n Wild Coloricon Eye Shadow Palette in Comfort Zone
These are the colors I created my look with. |
Price: $3.99
Packaging:
plastic, cheap & simple
Pigmentation:
Awesome! These eye shadows have an amazing color payoff. For the darkest color,
I hardly had to touch my brush to it.
Consistency: They’re
pretty silky which is surprising considering the price; you get 8 eye shadows making
them only 50 cents a piece! I haven’t experienced any fallout and I created a
smoky look.
Wear-ability: You
can create a softer look to a more dramatic look with this palette.
Extras:
Worth it?: Yes.
You can’t beat the price and quality of these eye shadows. Broke student, look
no further.

Bronzer SPF 15 in Reserve Your Cabana
This photo was taken with flash. You can notice it on my cheek bones as well as cupid's bow. |
If you’re a Pinterest beautyholic like me, then you've
probably pinned that Wet n Wild had a dupe for Lorac's Spotlight. Now, I can’t
tell you whether or not it’s a dupe, but I can review the product for you.
Price: $3.99
Packaging:
plastic, cheap & simple
Pigmentation: The
color is subtle, especially on fair skin.
Consistency: The
feel of this highlighter is that of an eye shadow and it’s a little chalky.
When applying it, it feels very powdery. In fact, I believe their eye shadows
to be silkier than this.
Wear-ability: It’s
totally wearable and not glittery at all. It has a nice sheen which is perfect
if you don’t want to look like a disco ball.
Extras: It
photographs well, so it wouldn't be too much when taking photos at somewhere like prom. You can also try applying it with a little MAC Fix Plus or other setting spray, but I haven't tried that yet.
Worth it?: You
could pay a little more and get The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer and KNOW that it
will rock, but if you still want it to be under $5 and don’t want something
with chunks of glitter, then I say give it a go.
Price: $2.99
Packaging:
plastic, cheap & simple
Pigmentation: Great! A little goes a long way.
Consistency: A little powdery but can be blended. Great quality for the price.
Wear-ability: It will go with many skin tones, including fair and dark (as long as you apply a little more).
Extras: Beautiful color.
Worth it?: Definitely a great blush for those on a budget.
Wet n Wild Matte Lipstick in Think Pink
Price: $1.99
Packaging:
plastic, cheap & simple
Pigmentation: Holy crap, they're opaque.
Consistency: This is a very creamy lipstick but it can definitely be a little drying, but nothing a well moisturized lip and some gloss couldn't help.
Wear-ability: This particular color makes a great pinky-nude and it's my favorite of all their lipsticks.
Extras:
Worth it?: These are a no-brainer, you need them in your collection.
Here are the swatches of some other colors which are all equally opaque and creamy.
Here is my completed look! If you would like to see a tutorial of this Wet n Wild inspired look, please leave a comment below! Also, don't forget to subscribe to become a Glamourista!
